On May 15, 2025, The Federalist reported that America First Legal had filed a judicial complaint asking Chief Judge David Barron of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit to investigate Chief Judge McConnell. The piece says the complaint concerns his role at Crossroads Rhode Island while presiding over New York v. Trump. The Washington Examiner, in a June 25, 2025, exclusive, described the same May filing and quoted the complaint as saying he did not recuse and that the failure “may violate federal law and judicial canons of ethics.”

Those sentences are reporting about an allegation. A complaint under 28 U.S.C. § 351 is not a finding of misconduct. This page does not treat AFL’s adjectives as the court’s. Gateway Pundit and Conservative Treehouse republished the Crossroads theory in February from AFL’s public thread; those pieces are commentary. H.Res. 241 is a separate House paper. Do not merge the three into a conviction.
